Spotlight Author
L-J Baker's first book, Broken Wings, was entertaining and clever, but
this book,
Lady Knight, takes a big step up in craftmanship. Baker
achieves a realistic old world setting, with all of the dirt, bloodshed, and
hardships you'd expect from that time period. She also avoids slapping
21st century morals in a psuedo 15th century world (guessing on the
time period since it's a fantasy world, but you get the drift).  Two minor
nits: 1 - I wish the ending were a bit longer, and 2 - there were dangling
bits that suggest maybe (just maybe) a sequel. Not enough to say it
HAS to have a sequel, but enough to say it's a possibility if the author
ever wants to return to these characters.
